Girls Rock Girls Rule Touring Bands
G-Spot
Lead singer of G-spot and founder of Girls Rock & Girls Rule, Gail Silverman is a sexy siren commanding her audience’s attention by juxtaposing her sassy wit & her naked vulnerability, her magnetism & her enlightenment, her wrath & her passion, with a no-holds barred delivery of emotion. “Nothing could have prepared me for what I would hear…G-Spot has evolved into a loud, in your face, take over the world rock band and they have never sounded better!” Mark Fisher, GoGirlsMusic.com. G-spot offers a punky, rock-pop, hi-energy wild roller coaster ride that takes listeners from one peak to the next, leaving them catching their breath, & wanting to go back on the ride again & again. It's got a vibe that's sort of early No Doubt meets the Donnas, but with an attitude & an edge reminiscent of rock divas such as Joan Jett and Janis Joplin. With a fantastic team of musicians backing her up including Donald Dixon on bass, Phil Bloom on drums & Ed Kuri on lead guitar this band explodes on stage. In addition to captivating audiences along the east coast, G-spot is catching the attention of the Film and TV industry. The title track of their CD “Come Here, Go Away” was featured on the A&E Network show, Rollergirls and two of their songs Revolutionary & Even the Mighty Fall were placed in the Independent feature film, Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy. Recently their music was selected to be used on the new Rockin’ Kitchen Cooking show. (gspotband.com)

Girls Rock Girls Rule Supporting Acts
All Out Riot -
September 8
Formed on Long Island, NY during the summer of 2006, All Out Riot is a five-piece band from Suffolk County, LI. Boasting an undeniably brash pop-punk sound infused with ska, reggae, and funk, this group’s influences range from Reel Big Fish to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As evidenced by the thrashing throng that attends each show their grooves are irresistible and far too danceable to ignore. The front woman of this eclectic combo and original Riot grrrl, Courtney belts out lyrics that are at once deeply personal and yet easy to relate to in a heart-searing manner. Songs about love lost and gained, and sometimes just pure anger management, serve as superior therapy for both her and the audience. Stu's funky bass lines, Michael's rhythmic, riff-friendly guitar, and J.P's frenetic drum work keep the audience on their feet. And adding a semi-symphonic sound to this punkish outfit, Mikey P rounds out the tunes with a rapid-fire rap here, a smooth sax solo there. This is pure ska bliss without losing its pop sensibility. The Catholic Girls -
August 23
The Catholic Girls are ready to spread the gospel of rock’n roll from The Vatican to Your Garage with their latest full-length CD, MEET THE CATHOLIC GIRLS! . Renaissance Records along with Koch Entertainment have released the CD nationally in 2007 and plan to release a DVD collection later this year. The front cover recreates the photo from their first record with the three original members: Gail, Roxy, and Doreen on a school bus but with a modern twist. The CD features15 tracks that showcase the group’s musical diversity, danceable rhythms, glistening harmonies and memorable hooks along with a melodic, crystalline production. Songs include “Should Have Been Mine (a video of which has also been released), “Some Boys “, “:Fatal”, the bluesy “What Was The Matter” and more! The CD includes full lyric sheets that read like any girl’s confessions about: boys, heartbreak, true love, true rejection, cars, rebellion, sex, and breaking loose with a guitar in hand on stage. As the band’s reach has expanded, so has the energy that continually drives The Catholic Girls to transform their listeners into full-fledged rock and roll believers! Maybe there was a time when The Catholic Girls set out to prove that they could play with the boys. This undisputed, today’s Catholic Girls prove again and again that they can break all the rules and rock the pants off just about anyone, in any venue, anywhere! (myspace.com/thecatholicgirls)
Cheap Perfume –
September 8/30
One of the first hard rocking all girl bands to emerge from the CBGB punk scene in the late 70s was Cheap Perfume. The band was formed in late 78 by Susan Palermo and Alison Berger, cocktail waitresses at CBGB, who joined forces with drummer Brenda Martinez to create a rock ’n roll aggregation dubbed Cheap Perfume. Lead singer Lynn Odell came on board, along with Nancy Street on rhythm guitar, and later Bunny LeDesma on lead guitar. Cheap Perfume became the queens of the NYC rock scene, laying the groundwork for future female bands like The Go Gos and The Bangles. They shared bills with such acts as British punk-comic John Otway, the Plasmatics, the Shirts, the Tuff Darts, the Dead Boys, JohnnyThunders and the Heartbreakers, The Rattlers and the Laughing Dogs. Now, they’ve reunited, delivering the distinctive and infectious high voltage rock for which Cheap Perfume became known and loved in hip music circles during the glory days of punk. Cootie Shot -
September 28/29/30
Cootie Shot came together in early 2006 when a group of friends (Casey/Vocals, Kathleen/Drums, Nikki/Guitar and Tim/Bass) decided that they wanted to make music. Unlike most kids their age, their inspiration did not come from the standard pop-punk that was being pumped through MTV and Top-40 radio, but instead from classic punk (The Ramones, The Misfits) as well as 70's and 80's pop (Blondie, Cyndi Lauper). By fusing these styles together, they developed a sound exclusive to Cootie Shot. Their first year saw the release of their five songs EP, multiple appearances on the punkchickradio.com webcast, over twenty five live performances and the opportunity to share the stage with bands like Wheatus, House of Fools (DriveThru Records) and The Sunstreak. It's hard to explain what Cootie Shot sounds like since there's nothing out there like them. They seemed to do to 70's and 80's pop what The Ramones did to 50's and 60's pop - which is strip it down, speed it up and give it a good kick in the ass. Their lyrics simultaneously reveal the innocence of puppy love alongside the wisdom of someone who's had their heart ripped out and won't let it happen again. (cootieshotmusic.com)
Covin-
September 27
New Haven, Connecticut's Covin is a new and upcoming rock band with an emphasis on classic rock and roll with some catchy modern hooks. Their music bolsters a dark image; but just a bit left of shadowy, with a tongue-in-cheek smirk. For fans of The Misfits, Alkaline Trio, and My Chemical Romance, Covin plays it their way without sounding or looking like a gimmick. Covin plays smart, punchy-punk with having a loving nod for metal riffs. The band name is a reference from one of the greatest documentaries ever made, American Movie. (myspace.com/covin)

Dormitory Effect -
September 8
Four New York women, Susan, Meredith, Urith and Gee paid their dues in established New York bands. After years of mutual admiration, they decided to take on the world as a united force - Dormitory Effect. The effect has been impressive. Dormitory Effect was selected to perform at the Rockrgrl Conference in Seattle, Toronto's prestigious North by Northeast, a featured live act on comedian Jim Breuer's Sirius satellite radio show, "Breuer Unleashed” and was also listed in the Garry Sharpe-Young book “The New Wave of American Heavy Metal”. Edible Red -
August 23
Led by firecracker front woman Collette McLafferty, edibleRed is an eclectic New York City-based five-piece collective of atypical musicians. The memorable songs the band creates can be heard on their debut CD, Welcome to My Bad Behavior on veteran indie label Select Records. Featured lyricist McLafferty is edibleRed's femme-fatale who describes her sound as one of "a classically trained voice that slowly degenerated into a rock singer's voice. Alongside McLafferty is edibleRed co-founding member, the Grammy nominated drummer Tom Papadatos. Aside from being one of the most talked about bands in the tri-state area, edibleRed has been cultivating a diehard national following, and planting seeds internationally thanks to non-stop touring, and radio and TV appearances on FUSE TV's IMX and Brooklyn Radio Online. McLafferty was featured on an episode of FUSE's "Tattoo Stories," and The Style Network's "Split Ends. In February 2007, members of edibleRed were special guests on an episode of the Dr. Keith Ablow show where psychic twins predicted their imminent success, they will be featured on The Discovery Channel's Cash Cab on July 11th 2007. edibleRed's songs have been included on the Oxygen Network's "Good Girls Don't," and most recently the band's lead single "Sugar and Spring" was featured in an episode of Showtime's "The L Word." Their music can also be heard on KROCK2's "Domestic Disturbance." Bring all these ingredients together and you have a psychedelic rock recipe sure to satisfy any appetite. (ediblered.com)
Emiko –
September 22, 23, 24
Indulging a rare breed of rock n' roll of the biggest kind, Emiko is a sensitive, introspective songwriter. Notwithstanding, this girl lives up to the rock legends as a trailblazer who, having played piano since she was two and half, has transformed from classical pianist prodigy to rock and roll starlet. "Here Lies Tinkerbell" features mature, musical expertise along with adventurous, rock esthetics through wails on the B3 organ, funky licks on the clav, Wurly solos, and melodic whirls that Beethoven would drool over. Emiko's intense, bold lyrics investigate and lament over love, heartbreak, frustration and fear in ways that make her listeners not only move and groove to the music, but relate on a much deeper emotional level. Fresh off the road with the legendary Jackson Browne, Emiko has graced the pages of Billboard Magazine, Music Connection, etc. MTV says Emiko is "incredible live!"-- with another album in the works, award wins, #1 chart success in the UK and US, and a newly aired TV show “City Sessions”, Emiko's just on the brink of exploding globally. Also the founder and Executive Director of the Asian American Music Industry Association (AAMIA), Emiko signed onto World Hunger Year’s AAHP (Artist Against Hunger & Poverty) campaign, founded by the late Harry Chapin. As part of AAHP, Emiko tours internationally under the same banner with superstars Bruce Springsteen and Michael McDonald. Currently, Emiko makes her home in New York with her band, the GeminiStation Project and is thrilled to be part of Revolutionary Records’ Girls Rock and Girls Rule tour! (emikomusic.com)
Esmirelda & the Tidbits -
September 22
D.C. area musician Esmirelda, who has been called a "fruity-assed mad genius” by Get Fancy Magazine, has reinvented herself once again with this brand spanking new band. Still wickedly witty, clever and satirical, she's won nineteen WAMMIEs (Washington Area Music Awards), and two Billboard Awards for songwriting. Two of the WAMMIES were won with The Tidbits. The songs are hook-laden, funny, pissed-off, and melodic. Definitely not boring. Songs about insane parties, dirty fingernails, and a nightmare involving a horny yellow gorilla are featured on Esmirelda & The Tidbits' first CD, "Big Yella". (Released in August, 2005.) It also features Ron Holloway, Fred Lieder, and Jaqui MacMillan. Just remember that size does matter; and every 'Bit' counts. (meetthetidbits.com)
Infernophonic -
August 23
The sounds of Infernophonic burn away the conventions and pretensions of modern day music, leaving a molten core of groove-laden, classic hard rock the likes of which has not been heard since giants such as Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple scorched the earth. Rising from the ashes of N.J. Funk favorites Tang, Infernophonic welds the former band’s butt-bouncing beats and soulful singing to more expansive song structures and truly explosive musical performances, taking the listener on a rip-roaring rocket ride that they just won’t want to come down from. Featuring the volcanic vocals of Elaine Tuttle (New Power Soul, Sugarbelly), the red-hot riffs of Guitarist Pat Piegari (Anger, Lourds, Loss Of Breath), and the blazing Bass lines of founder Kevin Bolembach (Seven Witches, Odd Man Out, Non-Fiction), Infernophonic melts and melds the influences of these three individuals into a unique new musical style that excites as it ignites. Infernophonic will release their debut album Spark It Up this fall. Produced by Alan Evans of Soulive, the 12-song CD features 7 all-new tracks as well as several long-time fan favorites from their days as Tang. A 3-time veteran of the Girls Rock & Girls Rule the Road event, Infernophonic vows to make it through their entire set this year, spontaneous combustion of equipment notwithstanding. (myspace.com/infernophonic)
If Man Is Five –
September 25, 28, 29
If Man Is Five was formed in the spring of 2002 in Binghamton NY. The band’s original line up had Angela Timon on vocals, Brianna Salazar on guitar, Matthew Sisson on drums, with Allen Spencer on bass. The members all met at a local punk show in 1997. One year after forming If Man Is Five released Azraela, a short album featuring the styles of punk and gothic rock. No longer willing to be held back by musical differences, Angela and Brianna made the difficult decision of firing Allen Spencer. The band unsure of their future found a new bass player and pressed on. Next the band released Blood is the Ink Hate is the Story, an experimental album much heavier than its predecessor combining hardcore, punk, and metal with traditional classical music. In 2006 the band forged on as a three piece impressing audiences with Angela taking on the role of both bass player and singer. If Man Is Five was selected to play the NXNE Festival, Lady Fest, and last year had the honor of playing the Girls Rock and Girls Rule Tour. Recently the band released their very first DVD, and are currently working on their highly anticipated third album. (blackazul.com/ifmanisfive)
Luff –
September 30
Brooklyn based Luff is stormy, precocious, and sonically pleasing. It is the payoff of years of crafting songs and accumulating delay pedals, of fine-tuning texture and intention. Influenced by bands like Yo La Tengo, Mogwai, and My Bloody Valentine, they blend noise with beauty, post-rock with shoegaze. Sheila Sobolewski provides rich guitar work and sparse and lovely vocals. Liz Bustamante's (Spouse/Addicted2Fiction) brilliant drumming and Tara Smith's solid bass playing lay perfect groundwork. Guitarist Robin Pickering (Triple Creme) brings her rock sensibility to the band. Their newest album and first full-length, Blanket Ice, releases Summer 2007 and promises nothing less than the artful capture of this well articulated noise. (luffmusic.com)
Odd Girls Out -
September 24
II know what you're thinking. Female musician: some timid little thing singing her pretty, melodic folk songs, strumming her acoustic guitar in a coffee shop. No, wrong. Take that girl and load her up on caffeine. Grow her up on Joan Jett and Letters to Cleo; Hole and Green Day; Led Zeppelin and Heart. Now piss her off: take that acoustic guitar and smash it. Tell her girls can't play, let alone rock. Push her right up to the edge. Now hand her an electric guitar, crank up the volume, and surround her with a band of the same. That's Baltimore-based Odd Girl Out: 5 girls, 60% power-pop, 30% bubblegum-punk, 10% melodic rock, and 100% tired of playing by your rules since 2004. OGO is Tawni on lead vocals, Bethany Petr on drums and vocals, Eva Blackmer on bass guitar and vocals, Kristen Brzowsky on lead guitar and vocals, and Selena Benally on guitar and vocals. (oddgirlout.net)
Olivia and the Housemate -
September 22
Washington, DC-based Olivia Mancini and the Housemates came together in the spring of 2005 when a group of friends – Kristin Forbes (bass, vocals), Edward Donohue (guitar), and Jonathan Roth (drums) –agreed to help Olivia (vocals, guitar) put together some songs she had been working on. Naming the group was easy: The three musicians lived together in a house in Arlington, VA. Over the next year, the group grew to include honorary Housemates Dan Swenson (trumpet, organ, vocals) and Randy Scope (guitar). Two years later, the Housemates are still a band. But they are no longer housemates. The group has scattered to other parts of the city, and to other cities altogether. Nevertheless, they have been busy. With Randy in the producer’s chair, the group is recording a collection of songs they hope to release this fall. Meanwhile, Ed’s Donny Hue and the Colors (featuring Randy, Dan, and Olivia) will release their own record this July; Dan’s Holy Attack has finished their album, engineered by Ed; Jon and Dan continue to record and tour with Meredith Bragg and the Terminals; Randy and Olivia just released a new Washington Social Club album in June; and Kristin rocks regularly with Baltimore’s Doc Night and the Hypnotix when not playing with her own Kristin Forbes Band. (myspace.com/oliviaandthehousemates)
Pasco Roberts –
September 27
Pasco Roberts from Chicopee MA, formed two years ago with former guitarist of Ligiea, Johnny Bruno, bassist Nick Desroches, vocalist Mimi Herrick, drummer Anthony Papamarhakis, and rhythm guitarist Nick Martin. Together they have former a unique style of music influenced by At The Drive In, Saosin, Paramore, Circa Survive, Piebald, Coheed and Cambria and Killswitch Engaged. Pasco Roberts has really been successful at trying something different than most bands, mixing heavy riffs with the soft voice of female vocalist Mimi. Pasco Roberts is truly a new aged band mixing an untraditional mix of Jazz, Rock, Emo, and even bringing in some heavier riffs to get crowds moving! You can reach the band by simply going to
www.myspace.com/pascorobertsmusic, or you can call Nick Desroches at 413.626.7693. You can also email him at nick@milestoneevents.org.
Prima Donna -
September 25
Prima Donna is a female fronted alternative pop-rock band from the Philadelphia area. The band features the impressive song writing/guitar playing of twin sisters Gina and Tina Cieri and the compelling vocals of lead singer Debbie Kernan. The trio is backed by the solid, driving rhythm section of Steve Wood on bass and Ryan McVeigh on drums. Filling a void in today’s music, Prima Donna is a band of substance. Derived from pure emotion, the music offers something old and something new. Old as in old school, the song comes first; everything is built around the song. New as in, it has a modern, edgy rock sound combined with hook oriented pop that is different enough to be called alternative. The band boldly made their entry onto the indie music scene in 2003 with their first full length cd, “Not Having Fun.” The CD has received rave reviews and has been played by over 200 college radio stations across the country charting in the top 10 on many including WIIT, (Chicago, IL), and KAOS, (Olympia, WA). It’s also receiving internet radio airplay and commercial radio airplay on WSTW in Delaware. Prima Donna continues to develop a reputation as an outstanding live act. With well thought out arrangements and intense presentations, their shows are always exciting. (primadonnamusic.com)
The Raygun Girls -
September 8
NY Hard Rock band, The Raygun Girls, began as a studio project in 2001 with Geoff doing lead vocals. After recording ³Mars Eclipsing² in 2004, the band was taken to the live stage, adding George on bass. Work began on new music, focusing on lead female vocals, Metal guitar, hard hitting beats, and catchy songs. Upon the strength of songs like ³Sleep² and ³Can¹t Die Now,² The Raygun Girls was invited to play the Rock Solid Pressure A&R Showcase in Florida. The Raygun Girls put together a tour and headed down South. With only a 10 minute set, The Raygun Girls were offered deals by two independent labels that were in attendance. The Rosies –
September 8M/i>
A conglomerate of tastes, sounds and styles, The Rosies aim only to defy a genre or category and meld five very different influences. Musicians intertwined from bands past, April, Jenn, Brock, Dave and Evan experiment with trashy rock guitars, layered with sweet harmonies, and punctuated with a blues tinge. (www.myspace.com/therosiesband)
RoyalPink - September 30
With four charismatic chicks and one unique, dirty-girl sound, RoyalPink has created an irresistible niche in the New York City club scene. Upon meeting each other in June 2006 at the Willie Mae Ladies Rock Camp, they immediately recognized their mutual desire to rock hard, acquire multitudes of gold-lame clad groupies, and amass impressive amounts of free drink tickets. On that day, RoyalPink was born. The bands brainy-yet-badass style is marked by lusty lyrics, addictive dance hooks and a unique line-up (vocals, two bass guitars and drums). They’re a neo-girl-group-from-hell that loves their Ziggy Stardust as much as their Joey Ramone. And they bring it all together with an unstoppable live act that leaves the stage littered with the undergarments of enthusiastic fans. Royal Pink has already played an impressive roster of some of New York’s best venues in their first year, including Crash Mansion, Lit Lounge, Cake Shop and Don Hill’s. Never ones to let grass grow under their stilettos, the ladies also just released their first EP, Eat My Heart Out, recorded at Manhattan’s legendary Clinton Studios with award-winning producer Troy Halderson. (myspace.com/royalpinkrocks)
Sanity Is Chaos -September 27
2006 was a year of many firsts and changes for Springfield, MA based hard rock band Sanity Is Chaos. They were very well received at their first show back with a new drummer in tow. They had the privilege of playing the Springfield Rockfest at the Hippodrome in downtown Springfield. They also earned a nomination for “Best Aggressive Rock” band in the Valley Advocate’s Grand Band Slam Competition, eventually earning a second place finish in that category. Even after all of the successes of this year, there have been some hurdles along the way. This five piece band exists with powerful lyrics from Steve (formerly of Guilt By Association) and solid guitar work from Marc and Brian. The low end is laid down by Tonya on bass. They parted ways with their drummer Sean so that he could further pursue his education, which had left a gaping hole in the lineup. That hole was soon filled by Jason (formerly of EDGAR and Sever The Skies), who completes the rhythm section. With their lineup solidified, and their debut album in the works, they are now poised to make their mark in 2007. (sanityischaos.com)
Semiblind - September 23
Semiblind is a groove-rock band that skirts a harder edge at times, but also knows how to mellow things out. Their set includes classic and modern rock covers with a mix of their own rock originals. They produce a distinct sound with powerful male and female vocals, diesel driven guitar, solid, thumping bass lines, and thunderous drums. Semiblind formed in September of 2003 bringing together musicians from all over Delmarva. They started performing gigs regularly in February of 2004. They are currently performing all over Delmarva and are working toward branching out further and getting their music heard wherever they can. Semiblind has appeared on the Comcast cable show The Kilowat Spot and radio shows such as; 95.9 FM's Local Lixx, X106.9 FM's Exposed, X106.9 FM'z Local Traxx with Krazy Eddie, and Ocean 98's Live Lixx @ 6. Semiblind has been featured in Salisbury Daily Times ""Go"" section, the Maryland and Delaware Beachcomber, and Xtra, X106.9 FM's music magazine. They have been interviewed and filmed by local news station WBOC at the 2007 Delaware Music Festival, and will be featured in the August 2007 issue of Delaware Beach Life Magazine. In March of 2007 they shared the stage with national act River City High. Their music is on rotation and available for request on X106.9 FM, 98.1 FM, and 93.5 FM. (semiblind.net)
Shooting Ropes- September 25th
Shooting ropes is a four piece rock power pop band hailing from Philadelphia. Looking for a way to express their desire to rock, friends Steph Hayes (guitar/vocals) and Robert C. Wolter (drums) decided enough was enough and that a band had to be formed. The name Shooting Ropes was inspired by old cowboy westerns where the hero would shoot the rope tied around a victim’s head, thus saving their life. Now that they had a name they needed a bass player that could lay down a solid rock foundation. The first person they thought of was LotSix, an eclectic multi-media performer and bassist to boot. The first rehearsals were in March of 2004; they went swimmingly with many songs and playing as loud as they ever had in a band. It wasn't long before Steph brought her brother Matt to practice for him to shred his axe. Not only did he up the ante as far as rocking, but he also was a productive songwriter and after Matt’s' induction to the band came many more songs. "It's really all about rocking for me." Says Matt, "I mean, I go out there every single night trying to not only blow the audience's mind, but my mind as well.” Known as a spontaneous, energetic and emotionally sweaty live band, they look forward to bringing their rock to a stage near you. (myspace.com/shootingropes)
Silence Bleeds -September 28, 29
Silence Bleeds originated in late 2004 as the lead singer- Kassandra’s solo project. In 2005 Kassandra went into J.A. Castle Recording Studio to cut a few demo songs that she had been previously working on. The overall basis of the songs and lyrics consisted of both personal and fictional aspects of her life. Several months after all of the recordings were finished and cut, Kassandra publicized her work online and went on to find other local musicians interested in joining her project. With luck, in the summer of 2006, guitarist Dave became the first official member to join Silence Bleeds. With Dave and Kassandra’s paired efforts, they auditioned several musicians and continued the search for similar musicians as themselves. In November of 2006, a drummer by the name of Mani auditioned. With instant chemistry, Mani was the next official member of Silence Bleeds. With almost the entire line-up complete, Kassandra, Dave, and Mani continued to search for a bassist. It wasn’t until April of 2007 that they found Andy on a music forum looking to join a band. After one audition, Andy got accepted into Silence Bleeds. Now, with their full line-up, Silence Bleeds is invading the music scene. They are gigging out all over central New York and have already had the opportunity of headlining for a college concert. Their fan-base is increasing with each and every performance they participate in. Their unique sound and image completely differentiates among other local musicians, along with their energetic stage presence. Silence Bleeds can be described as a nu-metal band with both progressively haunting and musing female vocals. The combination of aggressive beats and melodic vocals is close, but not the full extent to which Silence Bleeds is made of. If one takes into consideration their metaphysical lyrics and mystifying dark beauty, almost disguised if not. (silencebleeds.com)
Soraia - September 23
Since their inception in late 2001, Soraia has proved to be indestructible. Bar room brawls, mid-tour theft, promotion-related injuries and near arrests, to name a few have not slowed them down. Thousands of dollars and thousands of miles later, the members of Soraia continue on their working-vacation quest that is Rock & Roll. The pure love and commitment to Rock & Roll is the common denominator and bottom line that all members of Soraia are built upon. Truly, "... a band dedicated to their own unique style, instead of trying to follow the majority just to be popular...." as stated by Suzi Williams of the UK's Black Velvet Magazine. Blues, garage, and pure and simple rock are blended seamlessly into a sound pulsating with the heart and soul that has gone missing in much of today's alternative bands. Soraia is currently working with Producer/Engineer Obie O'brien (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, etc) on a new full-length album due to be released late summer 2007. Following the release of this new album, Soraia will be touring extensively throughout the states and Europe. That's right; Soraia is heading back out on the road. You have been warned. (soraia.com)
Spark is a Diamond- September 25
Spark is a Diamond come from the ashes of Fall River, formerly on Thorp Records. In 2006, Fall River decided to throw in the towel and now this off shoot has risen. Completely different from you would expect, Spark is a Diamond mix a dance driven, indie-punk meets hardcore sound, with duel female / male vocals. Having entered the studio with good friend Paul Leavitt (Darkest Hour, Circa Survive) and Matt Bayles (Blood Brothers, These Arms Are Snakes) their debut EP, Keep Your Eyes Off The Prize, was released November 14th, 2006. This past year, they've earned a reputation for a fun and energetic live show by playing venues up and down the east coast, and touring in the south and mid-west. Look for a full length coming early 2008. (sparkisadiamond.com)
The Turnaround – September 27
The Turnaround is a Rock/Metal band from New Haven, CT with distinct elements from power pop in their sound. Infused with definite '80s rock influences and peppered with some catchy guitar riffs. Leader singer Becky Turner is a woman who isn't afraid to let her voice be heard. Between the ringing guitar leads and powerful riffs, Becky is a tough female singer who boasts a sweet, soaring voice up front and commanding stage presents to control the pop-punk, Rock and Metal masses. Lead guitar player and drummer Charlie and Nick Bellmore are tight and talented musicians who also play in CT’s metal-hardcore band Phantoms. Bass player Eric Schrader also plays in Covin, who is also featured on the GRGR tour. Check out The Turnaround at www.myspace.com/theturnaroundct
